The road access project at Hwy 22 and RancheHouse Road has been rescheduled for late spring-early summer 2015.

The project was slated to commence this month and would change the intersection to only allow right-hand turns into and out of the intersection.

All Sunset Ridge traffic heading south on Hwy 22 (now the most heavily populated community in Cochrane) would then be rerouted through the Sunset community to the lights at Hwy 22 and Sunset Blvd.

The decision to delay the construction project was based on an extended contract negotiation process and the potential for bad weather.

The detailed design is complete and administrative documents are being finalized so the project can commence at the start of the 2015 construction season.

Project constructed is estimate to take two months. Visit cochrane.ca for updates.

A second public engagement session regarding Cochrane’s Transportation Master Plan (TMP) will be held Oct. 16 from noon-2 p.m. and again (same info) from 6-8 p.m. at the RancheHouse.

The purpose of the engagement session is to gather and review information on possible future scenarios for all methods of transportation in town — including pedestrians, bikes, roads (vehicles) and transit.

The end result would be a ‘multi-model plan intended to support the development and growth of the Cochrane community so that future transportation needs are met.’
