Rocky View Schools’ (RVS) Board of Trustees has announced three leadership appointments, including naming Susan Williams as the acting superintendent of schools.
Williams is currently the associate superintendent of human resources with RVS. She brings more than 24 years of experience as a system and school administrator in Alberta with her to the position.
She’ll be filling the shoes of Greg Bass until a permanent replacement is announced.
“As a strong advocate of our system, Susan has demonstrated exemplary team leadership and effective decision-making skills,” said Bruce Pettigrew, board chair.
“I am very pleased that Susan has agreed to take on the challenges that this position will demand. I know her track record of being a conscientious, collaborative and trustworthy leader will serve our jurisdiction well.”
Williams’ appointment will be effective as of June 1.
Also moving into new roles on June 1 are Pat Worthington and Nancy Adams.
Worthington has been named the acting associate superintendent of human resources, replacing Williams.
Prior to this appointment, Worthington was the director of human resources for RVS.
Adams, will be replacing Worthington as the acting director of human resources from June 1-30 and Aug. 25-Dec. 31. Previously, she had retired as a school principal in 2011.
