A bone-chilling experience can be found right along downtown Cochrane, with the return of Royal LePage Benchmark’s Haunted House taking place on Oct. 28.
From 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., resident will have the chance to traverse a haunted house experience at the Royal LePage Benchmark offices on 1 St. W. Alongside the different tricks found at the haunted house, the first 150 families will be treated to a free pumpkin.
Realtor for Royal LePage Benchmark and one of the helping hands organizing this year’s event, Joey Cyr, said there are several plans lined up for visitors this year.
“This year, we’re hoping to do it a little bit bigger and better,” Cyr said. “We are obviously going to reconfigure the haunted house and we don’t want to have the same expectancy as last year.”
With new additions and more rooms in mind, Cyr said this is all part of their plan to keep visitors on their toes.
“We’re going to have a couple of different rooms opened up, we’re going have more people, as well as we might have a little surprise for some people walking out of the room or out of the building, and might have some surprises at the start,” he said. “We’ll have to see, I got to keep people in suspense.”
For families with younger kids, Cyr added that precautions are in place to ensure that trick-or-treaters of all ages have fun.
“We want to have as many people come through as possible,” he said. “It’s a family event, so in the end we try to cater to everybody. Obviously, if we invite kids who are very young, we’ll recommend [to] approach with caution, but we try to cater as much as we can to everybody coming through.”
As a free event for the community, Cyr added that Royal LePage will be collecting food donations at the haunted house and asks all families to consider making a donation upon their visit.
“This is a tough time of year for families to provide getting closer to Christmas,” he said. “So, we will have a food donation bin available, [and] we would love to have people coming and donate some food items as well.”
Cyr said the team at Royal LePage looks forward to bringing this event to the community again to the community, and would also like to Cyr to thank Tiia Warren for organizing the event.
“We absolutely love it, you know,” he said “Anything to bring families together and have kids have some fun. […] We absolutely love most of these events and we plan on making this an annual event, and bigger and better each year.”
