Looking to stay more connected with Rocky View Schools (RVS)? Well, now there’s an app for that.

The app was released Oct. 30 and, according to RVS, it offers quick and easy access to a wealth of information.

“It provides instant access to Rocky View information and, most importantly, we’re able to push notifications through this app,” said Angela Spanier, director of communications for RVS.

Spanier explained that the push notifications are another means which they will be informing school communities of closures and emergencies, although they would also continue to use traditional methods of reaching out, such as their website, social media and letters to parents.

Spanier said that the different communication methods are about meeting the needs of all of their community stakeholders.

Other information that can be found on the app includes calendars, careers, schools, blogs, contact info, access to RVS social media and more.

As of Nov. 21, Spanier said the app had been downloaded around 200 times, but she expected this to increase when a snow day occurs.

The app is free and can be found on Google Play for Android devices and in the Apple App Store for iPhones.
