The SLS Centre, Cochrane’s hub for all things sports and active lifestyles, announced that later this month it will hold its annual Gear Swap, a “community-driven initiative to support active lifestyles and sustainable practices.”
The SLS Centre is inviting residents to bring in gently used pieces of equipment for ice sports, dryland activities, aquatics, and running shoes to be sold at the swap, which will be held from 10 am to 2 pm on August 23.
Beginning on August 18 and running until August 23 from 6 am to 9 pm, people looking to donate gear to the swap can drop off articles of sporting equipment at the guest services desk in the SLS Centre lobby.
The SLS Centre said that all donated items will be made available to the public during the swap event on August 23 in the Gymnasium. “The initiative encourages residents to recycle their unused gear and help others access affordable equipment for a wide range of sports and activities,” an SLS Centre spokesperson wrote in a press release.
