Seniors on the Bow (SOTB) will present the second installment of its Voice of the Pioneer series on Jan. 30, showing how ranching and the care of animals has gone hand-in-hand during Cochrane’s extensive history.
Welcoming veterinarian Dr. Brian Edge and rancher David Copithorne, SOTB hopes attendees of the event will be entertained by the two Cochrane natives, with stories of their past and the history of ranching in the area.
Edge, who attended school in Cochrane, Springbank and eventually veterinarian college in Ontario, has cared for a variety of animals through his Cochrane clinic.
Likewise, Copithorne will relay stories of early ranching routines and its history in the region, while displaying images and video for those in attendance.
The evening, which kicks off at 7 p.m., will also include two short documentaries from the National Film Board of Canada that depicts ranching in the Cochrane area.
Tickets can be purchased for $4 at SOTB in advance or pay $5 at the door.
