UPDATE: Three men arrested after attempting to flee Cochrane RCMP vehicle stop

COCHRANE— Three suspects have been arrested after attempting to flee a vehicle stop by Cochrane RCMP.

At approximately 1:30 p.m. Monday (March 15) officers attempted a vehicle stop in front of the Winks convenience store on Highway 1A, said Cpl. Troy Savinkoff.

As officers attempted to stop the vehicle it rammed a police car.

“As a result of that contact the vehicle was immobilized,” Savinkoff said. The officer involved in the crash reported no injuries.

Officers were in position to immediately stop the vehicle and the three men occupying the vehicle were arrested.

A search of the car by RCMP revealed a loaded firearm and quantities of what is believed to be cocaine, fentanyl and oxycodone.

RCMP have charged Deng Keuch, 23, of Calgary with 20 offences including weapons possession, possession of stolen property, possession of drugs, and eight breaches of release conditions. Keuch was remanded in custody for Court on March 23 in Cochrane.

RCMP have charged Mark Ture, 21, of Calgary with 11 offences including possession of drugs, weapons possession, five breaches of release conditions, driving offences, and assault with a weapon on a police officer. Ture was remanded in custody for Court on March 23 in Cochrane.

RCMP have charged Gach Manyel, 22, of Calgary with nine offences including possession of drugs, weapons possession, and 4 breaches of release conditions. Manyel was released on $1000 cash bail with conditions for court on March 30 in Calgary.

Savinkoff said RCMP continue to investigate the incident and will be providing additional details in the future.

“These three individuals presented a very real danger to the community,”  Savinkoff said. "We are thankful that we were able to disrupt whatever plans they may have had.”
