COCHRANE— Effective Thursday (April 29), at 4 p.m., the Town of Cochrane has instituted a fire restriction.
As dry, windy conditions prevail, fire hazard conditions are at a level where wildland fires can start and grow quickly.
All outside burning permits are suspended until further notice.
No open wood-burning fires or charcoal briquette barbecues are allowed. Woodburning fires in screened appliances such as indoor/outdoor fireplaces or Fourno ovens are permitted. Gas or propane stoves or barbecues and portable propane fire pits are allowed.
The fire restriction will be in place until further notice.
