Town receives five transit proposals

The Town of Cochrane is reviewing five request for proposals (RFP) from bidders on the proposed community local on-demand transit service. Devin LaFleche, Cochrane’s transit analyst, said administration will review the proposals and the top rated proposal will be presented to council on Nov. 26. At that time, council will vote on whether to enter into contract negotiations with the proponent. LaFleche said administration is impressed with the level of the quality of the submissions in relation to service quality and cost. At the last council meeting, Coun. Alex Reed who hesitantly voted in favour of entering into the RFP process expressed doubt residents would be in favour of a service that cost more than $5 per month. “Based on the RFP proposals received the anticipated net costs of the transit service will be less than $5 per month,” LaFleche said of the RFP submissions,
