It’s nearly time for Cochrane’s largest annual event — the Cochrane Trade Show.

Local businesses and organizations will line the arenas of the Spray Lake Sawmills Family Sports Centre (SLSFSC) for the yearly event, which gets underway May 3 at 10 a.m.

Wrapping up at 5 p.m., the shopping will continue the next day (May 4) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Cochrane and District Chamber of Commerce hosts the annual trade fair.

In addition to providing showgoers with samples and shopping deals, and business owners with a marketing opportunity, the event serves as the chamber’s biggest fundraiser.

Lisa McPherson, a chamber representative, said the annual fair attracts an average of 2,800 people.

More than 120 businesses will be displaying their wares — from non-profit organizations such as the Cochrane and Area Humane Society and the Boys and Girls Club of Cochrane and Area, to community staples such as Anything Grows, to chamber newcomers like Springbank Truck Repair.

McPherson said there is still time for enterprises to register as an exhibitor.

Open to both chamber members and non-members, registration can be completed online at cochranechamber.ca.

Admission into the trade fair is $2 a day, or a family pass can be purchased for $5. Children 12 years and under get in free.
