Tickets for the Unleashed fundraising gala are still available.
The annual elegant event hosted by the Cochrane & Area Humane Society raises funds for furry friends in the community, with the proceeds this year to go toward the Rehabilitation & Education Centre.
This time last year tickets were already sold out.
“Ticket sales have been slow this year and we still have quite a few available … it’s a tough year for so many people with the economy,” said Jaimie Anton, the society’s fund-development officer.
Organizers are inviting people out for a fun-filled evening with an “exciting silent auction and exhilarating live auction.” Attendees will also be able to sample a different menu this year with a mashed potato bar, flat bread pizza and slider stations, among other various hors d’oeuvres.
There is a couple of weeks left to purchase tickets for the event, which will help raise the remaining funds for the Rehabilitation & Education Centre. The 4,000-square-foot building started construction in July and is expected to be finished and operational by the end of the year.
“The centre is really important to us as it will allow us to continue to offer and expand our training and education programs,” Anton said.
“Along with providing great support for the communities we serve, these programs, and the dog grooming and self-serve dog wash that will also be offered in the new building, will allow us to become more self-sustaining.”
