The Town's waste and recycling services have moved from bi-weekly back to weekly green cart pickups of organic materials as of April 4.
Green carts are for organics such as kitchen scraps, yard and pet waste.
Only paper, cardboard and certified compostable bags are permitted for use in organics carts.
Materials collected are used to make compost to enhance Town parks and nearby family farms and other agricultural operations with plant growing practices.
It takes about one year to turn organic materials into compost and the Town hosts compost give-away events every spring so residents may access free compost for their own gardens.
