According to Stoney Health Services, Stoney Nakoda First Nation was under a drinking water advisory from Nov. 27, 2001 to Aug. 2, 2005 and again from Oct. 20, 2006 to March 21, 2014. At least 200 community members have collected claims forms to consider seeking reparations since the First Nations Drinking Water Settlement opened to claimants in March.

A new service club has been formed in Cochrane and area, designed to attract like-minded people who are interested in giving back to the community and have fun doing it.

According to the detachment, the collision claimed the life of the motorcyclist, a 62-year-old man from Cochrane.
