COCHRANE— Setting the final details in place for The Calgary Metropolitan Region Board growth and servicing plan, an update on the progress of the document was provided to Cochrane council at the Dec. 14 regular meeting.

The Town of Cochrane had a reported 53 active COVID-19 cases as of Sunday (Dec. 27). To date there have been 238 cases of the virus identified— 184 people have recovered and one death has been reported.

EDMONTON — Alberta Finance Minister Travis Toews says the goal in 2021 is to get vaccines out and put the COVID-19 pandemic in the rear-view mirror, then work to fix a battered and beleaguered economy.

The Cochrane and Area Events Society has released a number of recommendations for families and residents to take part in while observing the public health measure in place.

"It's very hard to understand and very hard to put any information in the context that someone might find it useful," AUMA president Barry Morishita, who is also the mayor of Brooks, said.

“I think this displays the heart Cochrane as a community … It’s an awesome town with a huge heart, giving even though it’s tough.”

“Everybody’s got a lot of free time on their hand so I figured I would put it to good use,” Thompson said.
