Three games into their Rocky View Sports Association (RVSA) season, the Bow Valley Bobcats are still searching for their first victory after a 17-0 loss at the hands of the W.H. Croxford Cavaliers on Sept. 22 at Ed Eggerer Athletic Park in Airdrie. The game was tightly contested with both defences consistently stopping the other team's offence from putting up many points, but it was the Cavaliers who broke the deadlock and took advantage of a few Bobcats miscues to put up 17 unanswered points and take home their first victory of the season. With such a close score, Cote said the team needs to change a few things in order to make sure they start coming out on the right side of those close games. "I really believe we're on the right track ... we've got a group that has come together and is starting to play well together. They enjoy each other and there's a great team spirit," Cote said. "In this next game, I think we're going to come out and be that much better ... we're not going to make the mistakes, or at least limit the mistakes and we're looking for a good outcome against Chestermere." The Bobcats will now take on the only other winless team in the league as the team will welcome the Chestermere Lakers to Spray Lake Sawmills Legacy Field on Sept. 29. "We have to limit the mistakes in order to win. That's what we're working on in practice this week, is just fixing the little things," Cote said. "In the game against Croxford, they really were some simple mistakes ... and in fairness to the guys, some of those mistakes were caused by the weather. You never want to make excuses but the field was slick and the ball was wet, which makes it really difficult for a passing offence like ours. With that being said, if we come out and play our game, I think we'll get a positive outcome." Kickoff for the game will go at 1 p.m.
