The Cochrane High School Cobras senior boys basketball team went undefeated in three games to claim their home-court Cobra Classic basketball tournament held Jan. 11-12 in Cochrane.

The Cobras downed Brooks 89-59; defeated Queen Elizabeth 102-59 and beat Hunting Hills 69-58 in the final to claim the title at a tournament featuring a total of 24 varsity and junior-varsity boys and girls teams.

The Cobra varsity girls took silver after losing 54-51 in the final to Medicine Hat High School.

“The goal was to have the team improve in every contest and that was certainly the case this weekend as each game saw the Cobras improve offensively and defensively throughout the weekend of play,” said Cobras varsity girls head coach Randy Peron.

To get to the final, the Cobra varsity girls defeated Rundle College 45-39 and downed Canmore 48-29.
