The entire playing surface was locked in an airtight seal that meant the elements outside felt like an entirely different universe as compared to what it felt like to be inside.

“All our skaters did incredibly well,” Halliday said. “I think the coaches were just so proud of the club as a whole. Everyone really brought their game, where skaters were super excited to be there.”

Proud of his accomplishments, McGregor said it took hard work to get to this point in his career.

The Remarkable Pelkey Sisters Bragg Creek’s Pelkey sisters made sports headlines in both winter and summer this year. Rebecca Pelkey attended the 2023 Canada Winter Games in alpine skiing, and brought home two silvers in Slalom and Super G.

The first place Okotoks Bisons shut out the Cannex Cochrane Generals 3-0 at the SLS Centre Totem 1 rink Friday night.

“Every year we set out our goal to win the championship,” said Cochrane Chaos head coach Derek Loomer. 

 “Everybody's got to remember that they got to play for each other, they can't play for themselves,” Richards added. “They're not playing for their own stats, they're playing for the betterment of the team.”

“I want to gain hometown support and represent a bit more of Cochrane,” Felber said. "That would be really great.”

“I joined the beginner clinic just for a day but then I kept going from there,” Klotz-Dedora said. “I worked really hard, I really liked it, and I got a lot of opportunities from different teams.”
