ATLANTA (AP) — Dexter Scott King, who dedicated much of his life to shepherding the civil rights legacy of his parents, the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King, died Monday after battling prostate cancer. He was 62.

CAGLIARI, Sardinia (AP) — Gigi Riva, the all-time leading goalscorer for Italy men's national team who was known as the “Rombo di Tuono” (Rumble of Thunder), has died. He was 79.

BOULDER, Colo. (AP) — Larry Zimmer, the longtime radio voice for University of Colorado football and basketball who also called Denver Broncos games, died Saturday. He was 88.

Marlena Shaw, the jazz and R&B vocalist whose “California Soul” was one of the defining soul songs of the late 1960s, has died. She was 81. Shaw’s daughter, Marla Bradshaw, announced the singer's death Friday in a video posted on Facebook .

BOGOTA, Colombia (AP) — Piedad Córdoba, an outspoken Colombian lawmaker who for decades championed the rights of her fellow Afro-Colombians while undertaking huge risks as a go-between to leftist rebel groups, has died. She was 68.

Canadian TV personality and children's entertainer Nerene Virgin has died at age 77. An online obituary says she died Monday in Burlington, Ont., not far from her hometown of Hamilton.
