TORONTO — The Toronto Argonauts re-signed American starting quarterback McLeod Bethel-Thompson on Monday. Bethel-Thompson, 33, was slated to become a free agent next week.

REGINA — The Saskatchewan Roughriders and starting quarterback Cody Fajardo have agreed to a restructured contract for the 2022 season, the CF team announced Monday.

His time in Hamilton might be over, but veteran quarterback Jeremiah Masoli appears to have CFL options.

WINNIPEG — The Winnipeg Blue Bombers agreed to terms on a one-year contract extension with Canadian centre Michael Couture. The six-foot-four, 305-pound native of Burnaby, B.C. will return for his sixth season with Winnipeg.

MONTREAL — The Montreal Alouettes re-signed Canadian running back Jeshrun Antwi to a two-year deal Monday. The six-foot, 220-pound Antwi ran for 176 yards on 36 carries (4.9-yard average) in 14 games last season.

CALGARY — Cavalry FC captain Nik Ledgerwood, whose Canada career spanned a decade, has announced his retirement. The 37-year-old from Lethbridge, Alta.

CALGARY — Linebacker Jameer Thurman and running back Ka'Deem Carey are staying put. The Calgary Stampeders re-signed both Thurman and Carey on Monday. The two players were eligible to become free agents Feb. 8.

TORONTO — Mike Nykoluk, who captained the Toronto Marlboros to a Memorial Cup title and went on to coach the NHL's Maple Leafs for three and a half seasons, has died. He was 87. The Maple Leafs confirmed Nykoluk's death on Twitter.
