Buckley, Margaret (Peggy)

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear aunt Margaret (Peggy) Buckley, age 93, of Calgary at the Rockyview Hospital on Saturday, January 27, 2024. Peggy was born at home in Calgary on November 28, 1930. She lived and worked in Calgary until her marriage to Roy Buckley in 1963 and then they moved to Bragg Creek. After many years by the river in Bragg Creek and then on an acreage, they moved to Black Diamond and then to Cochrane. Peggy relocated to Calgary after Roy’s passing in 2016. She spoke fondly of her time running their business, Bragg Creek Excavating, working at the ATB in Bragg Creek and the many other occupations that she had had over the years.
Although she had no children of her own, she loved and cherished her many nieces and nephews as they did her.
Peggy is predeceased by her siblings and their spouses; Dot (Roy) Hookham, Don (Elaine) Deakin, Evelyn (Nick) Rusnak, Kathy (John) Speers, Pat (Tosh) Lambeth and Al (Eileen) Deakin.
We would like to thank all the staff and residents of Boardwalk Retirement Community for the friendship and kindness they have shown Peggy over the years with a special thank you to Rollan Baluma for going above and beyond.
We also wish to thank her Homecare nurse Sandra, the caregivers, Dr. West and the staff on unit 56 at the Rockyview Hospital.
