Dear Nathene Arthur. It is too bad that you are dismayed about Mrs. Needham’s decision to choose MAID as it is entirely a personal one.

I talk to people all the time who tell me about strange paranormal encounters they have had, and it seems a fitting topic as we enter this season known as Halloween.

I am responding to the letter by Nathene Arthur regarding MAID (Oct. 3 paper). From her letter it is obvious that Nathene is ignorant about what MAID is and who it is meant for.

According to Travis Smith (“Too many Uncle Rickys out there”, Sept. 26 paper) there are far too many Uncle Rickys out there when it comes to the ‘facts’, as he understands them, of climate change.

There are a million so-called truths disseminated on the internet today, and many of them amount to not much more than half-baked conspiracy theories, cherry picked data, and even outright lies.

It is with a deep sense of sadness and gratitude that we bid farewell to the regular appearance of "Coffee with Warren." You (Warren Harbeck) have been a beacon of peace, wisdom, and connection through your long-running columns.
