Winter is approaching and you need to decide on your strategy for providing the best conditions for your horse as possible.

Among the responses I received to last week’s column on rainbows, one stood out in its praise for a rainbow of a teenager who has risked her life for girls’ rights. Rainbows are symbols of hope.

It’s amazing how long it takes for people in Canada to stand trial for their alleged crimes. Cochrane has seen its share of shocking occurrences in the last few years.

The colours of the rainbow, so pretty in the cup, spoke of friendships that transcend time and differences.

It’s mid October and frost is on the pumpkin and pinching fingers. Seniors on the Bow (SOTB) keep warm with activities and events at the Drop-In Centre. The Fall Fashion Show, an October highlight, takes place Oct. 18 from 2-4 p.m.

People who have lived in Cochrane all their lives are fairly familiar with our history, but it may be of interest to newcomers to read an overview of the community’s past, covering its brief period of growth.

I haven’t been able to find out much about this talented six-year-old singer from Hong Kong, but I sure know this much: she really raises me up so I can stand on mountains.
