Following an arrest near Glenbow Road, a 32-year-old man has been charged with several counts of abuse toward a 17-year-old girl and an animal. At about 10 a.m, Cochrane RCMP received a complaint of a suspicious vehicle at the Historic Cochrane Ranche. The vehicle was found near Glenbow Road shortly after by RCMP with the assistance of Cochrane's Crime Reduction Unit. A number of stolen items were found in the car including garage door openers and stolen car keys. "During the investigation, there were some safety concerns noted toward the 17-year-old passenger," said Cst. Jennifer Brewer. The 17-year-old female has since been released.
The male was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offenses:
· Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Less than $5,000 X8
· Possess Break-in Instruments
· Uttering Threats Against a Person
· Uttering Threats to Property/Animals
· Assault
· Fail to Comply Probation Order X7
He was also charged with three Traffic Safety Act charges.
The male is in custody awaiting a hearing before a Justice of the Peace.
