Two rollovers in one day

Cochrane RCMP responded to a single-vehicle rollover on the morning of Sept. 26 at around 8:30 a.m . The subsequent investigation revealed the vehicle had been reported stolen in Calgary.

Cochrane RCMP responded to a single-vehicle rollover on the morning of Sept. 26 at around 8:30 a.m. The subsequent investigation revealed the vehicle had been reported stolen in Calgary. The one occupant of the vehicle, identified as Greg Deviat, was transported to hospital and treated for minor injuries.

"The investigation is still be done by the collision reconstruction member along with the general duty member. This can take a significant amount of time," said Cst. Kary Moore of the Cochrane RCMP.  "Whether the driver was under the influence of any substances will be part of that investigation."
The collision occurred on Towers Trail Road in Cochrane.
A second rollover occurred later the same day. A 63-year-old man died following a single vehicle rollover collision on Highway 22 between Redwood Meadows and Bragg Creek on Sept. 26. The accident occurred around 9:20 p.m. The man was riding in a dark blue 90s GMC Sierra, travelling northbound when it drove off the roadway and rolled into a ditch. He was declared dead at the scene. A second man was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No details have been released regarding which male was driving or their identities. Police are asking that any members of the public who may have witnessed the collision or observed a similar vehicle in the area around the time of the collision, to call the Cochrane RCMP Detachment at 403-851-8000.
