On Aug. 25, 2025, at approximately 10 p.m., Airdrie and Strathmore RCMP, Fire and EMS, responded to a report of a serious collision on Highway 9 and Highway 564.
Initial investigation shows that a semi was southbound on Highway 9 approaching the intersection with Highway 564 when a Ford F-250 pickup truck, which was travelling eastbound, failed to either stop or proceed safely from the stop sign.
A 28-year-old male resident of Beiseker, driver of the Ford, was declared deceased at the scene. The semi driver was not injured.
The investigation continues, though the accident was cleared just before 6 a.m. the following morning.
The Rocky View County intersection six kilometres east of Delacour meet has claimed the lives of motorists and been the site of numerous accidents in recent years.
The most recent accident took place on Aug. 5.
