More names are being added to the growing list of Rocky View County Council candidates as election day draws closer.
Several people have filed their notice of intent, including current Division 1 Councillor Kevin Hanson.
Allison Colbourne has filed her notice of intent for Division 2, Alison Whiting in District 3, and Roland "Rolly" Ashdown in Division 7.
All candidates are required to file a notice of intent with Rocky View County in order to accept campaign contributions or incur campaign expenses.
The notice of intent may be filed by candidates at the same time or before filing their nomination papers.
Current Division 4 Councillor Samanntha Wright is the latest candidate to file their full candidacy papers.
Other returning members of council seeking another term include Division 5 Councillor Greg Boehlke and Reeve Crystal Kissel of Division 3.
First time candidates include Bev Copithorne for Division 2 and Nick Wiebe for Division 7.
Currently, there are no candidates listed for Division 6.
In addition to the required forms, being at least 18 years old and a resident of the county for six months, candidates must also provide a criminal record check, a $100 deposit, and five signatures.
Candidates may withdraw their nominations up to 24 hours after the close of nominations at noon on nomination day - Sept. 22, 2025.
The 2025 Municipal Election is Oct. 20.
