The Alberta Cowboy Poetry Association is set to hold its first major event in three years at High River Gospel Church this weekend.

Rocky View County farmers are gearing up for harvest in the coming weeks, and conditions overall are looking pretty good out in the countryside, according to Greg Boehlke, Division 5 councillor and chair of the County’s Agricultural Service Boa

The Alberta Wheat and Barley Commissions will put a potential amalgamation to a member e-vote starting Oct. 3.

"This ban will remain in effect as long as high-risk conditions remain," stated a press release from the County.

"The investigation continues at this time with the driver of the sedan in police custody," the release stated, adding an update will be provided once the scene is clear.

Following an investigation, Kendra Bigstony, 33, of Morley has since charged with multiple charges including operating a vehicle while impaired by alcohol causing death or bodily harm, failure to remain at the scene, and driving while suspended or disqualified.

Most Albertans have been affected by rising fuel costs at the pump and a larger-than-life grocery bill, but those who rely on the availability and delivery of diesel fuel and fertilizer for their industry, such as farmers and ranchers, have faced a much larger albatross.
