After months of a sometimes acrimonious conflict with provincial wildlife officials over her right to rehabilitate orphaned bears at the Cochrane Ecological Institute (CEI), Clio Smeeton was somewhat relieved to finally have her permit officially renewed.

As a way to recognize World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, Cochrane's WEAAD Committee hosted their annual symbolic lilac tree planting at the Cochrane Community Health Centre on June 15.

The Bow Valley Rugby Club is hosting its annual Club Day on Saturday, June 17 at Mitford Park, offering sports-lovers in Cochrane an opportunity to come check out what the club has to offer.

"During this time the phone lines will still work, as well as 9-1-1," the detachment stated in a PSA. "Cochrane RCMP will still have members working during this time and taking calls for service."

Beginning as a folk project of O’Reilly’s, the band has performed their songs in many Calgary venues.
