The third Monday in January is sometimes referred to in popular culture as Blue Monday.

Although registration will continue throughout the year, RVS Superintendent of Schools Greg Luterbach said registering early helps families and schools plan for a successful transition and provides RVS necessary information to have teachers and resources in place.

Police have seized over $200,000 in drugs, as well as weapons, vehicles and other materials related to crime, from three residences in Calgary and Bearspaw.

On Jan. 7, wolfdogs at the Yamnuska Wolfdog Sanctuary near Cochrane ate meat that had been hung from trees in their enclosures to encourage problem-solving behaviour.

“Once we’re out [on the ice], the girls are really competitive and they’re working hard to get better all the time," Loomer said. "Hopefully that’s going to continue.”

Individuals who suspect they may have SAD are urged to speak with their physicians so they can overcome this often treatable condition. 

The Cochrane Environmental Action Committee (CEAC) is sponsoring an information session on residential solar power on Saturday, Jan. 14 at Spray Lake Sawmills Family Sports Centre.

“It’s really great because we are super transparent about who we give our money back to, how much we give back, and you can see it directly go back to the community,” said Cayley Breeze, manager of Cochrane Home Treasures.
