All of the “Top Dogs” will be strutting their stuff for the Calgary Kennel and Obedience Club (CKOC) All Breed Dog Show. The show will be taking place in Cochrane from Friday Sept. 12 through to Sunday Sept. 14 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.
The show will take place at the Spray Lake Sawmills (SLS) Family Sports Centre with over 100 breeds competing for their Canadian Championship and Top Dog in Canada.
The CKOC holds two all breed dog shows each year, with the last show being held from May 9 – 11 earlier this year also at the SLS centre.
Spectators will have the opportunity to see how a dog show runs and view everything from the preparation to the judging criteria. There will be a booth where people can meet the breeds and also several booths featuring displays from Cochrane and surrounding area.
According to their website, CKOC was incorporated under the Alberta Societies Act in 1958 as a non-profit organization dedicated to the betterment of purebred dogs and they encourage and develop the sport of pure bred dogs by assisting those involved.
Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for youth ages 13 – 17 and $3 for seniors. Children 12 and under are admitted free. For more information visit ckoc.com.
