Those looking to get a jump on their Christmas shopping can head to Beaupre Community Hall, next weekend, where there will be a variety of Christmas crafts available for purchase.

The Beaupre Community Christmas Craft Sale will be held Saturday, Nov. 15 at the Beaupre Hall, located just 15 minutes west of Cochrane.

The event is put on in collaboration between the Beaupre Artists Guild and the Beaupre Community Association, with the first Christmas Craft Sale taking place in 1995.

“It is filled with really special things,” said Joni Gotta of the Beaupre Artists Guild. “Stuff that you really can’t just go and buy.”

Gotta said some of the items for sale would include wood carvings, photography, crotchet, wood bowls, jewelry, artwork, jams and jellies, fruit cake, Christmas wreaths, cookies and candy and much more.

She said that there would be 22 tables at the event and they were nearly all taken with 19 reserved as of Nov. 3.

Gotta pointed out that the short drive from Cochrane is well worth it because of the uniqueness of the community and beautiful scenery in the area.

“The Beaupre community is extremely special,” she said. “It is a lovely outing into a really beautiful part of the area. The foothills start here, so the Beaupre hills are gorgeous. It is a wonderful outing.”

The Christmas Craft Sale will run from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. and there will be food and refreshments available.

Admission is free; for more information call 403-932-3203.
