This Sunday, the sounds of music and storytelling will fill the room at the Seniors on the Bow Centre as The Wardens and Sid Marty take the stage for a benefit concert for the Park Warden Service Alumni Society.

The concert is set to begin Sept. 15 at 3 p.m. Both performances will tell the tales of the backcountry, wildlife and life as a warden for the National Parks of Canada.

“We’re trying to get a lot of the stories, book and songs about being a park warden out there,” said Kathy Calvert, a former warden and board member for the society. “These stories are starting to fade away. This is our legacy, we need to not lose it.”

Sid Marty, author of Men for the Mountains and The Black Grizzly of Whiskey Creek, will be performing his original music for the benefit concert. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $15 (cash only). The doors open at 2:30 p.m.
