Serving the community for over 30 years, Two Pharmacy and Natural Market has proven to be a staple business in Cochrane.

And patrons know it, which is why Two Pharmacy claimed first place in The Cochrane Eagle’s 2022 Best of Cochrane Awards’ Retail Store, Pharmacy, Community Supporter and Local Entrepreneur categories.

Co-owner and operations manager of Two Pharmacy, Reid Kimmett, said his parents first started the business in 1989. With changes in business names and locations over the years, their current location opened in 2010. Kimmett co-owns the business alongside pharmacist Ian Kreuger.

Kimmett believes that supporting the community as often as possible helped build the success of Two Pharmacy. One example of that is the pharmacy’s annual Diaper Derby event in September, which always supports a local organization.

“We try to put giving back to the community at the forefront of everything we do,” he said. “I think the community returns that many times over.

“So, if we are supportive of families that are having hard times, people that need help, or community events that are looking for funds, we feel like that always comes back to us.”

With support of Cochranites proven through Two Pharmacy’s success in the 2022 Best of Cochrane Awards, Kimmett is humbled by the support shown by the community.

“We all just come in to work every day and do our jobs to try and make a difference in our community,” Kimmett said. “To be acknowledged for that work feels pretty special.”

As a proven business in the community, Kimmett outlines that owning and operating the pharmacy has been a wild ride for himself and his family. He is thankful of the support from patrons.

“We wouldn’t be here is it wasn’t for the support from the community and we are really grateful,” he said.

Kreuger echoed the sentiment. The pharmacist would like to give thanks to Cochrane for the last 20 plus years.

“Cochrane never ceases to surprise me with the support year after year,” Kreuger said. “This type of thing proves it to us, so thank you.”

Although they have proven themselves to be one of the community's favourite local businesses in town, Kimmett says it will always be a challenge to ensure the best experience at Two Pharmacy.

“For us, it’s great to be thought highly of, but that comes with the responsibility of living up to and growing that expectation.” Kimmett said. “So that’s something we are going to keep doing to do each day [by growing] our team, impact in the community, and see where we are in a year from now.”

Kimmett is a proud Cochranite and extends his thanks to the town’s residents for their continued support.

“To get to get to have this business and contribute to this town, it’s our life’s work here at the pharmacy,” Kimmett said. “We’re thrilled to be a part of it.”
