Now hiring: 2025 election workers

The Town of Cochrane is looking for qualified individuals to work during the 2025 Municipal Elections.

Positions include tasks such as setting up and closing voting stations, assisting voters, providing information and counting ballots.

With October just around the corner, the Town of Cochrane is preparing for the 2025 Municipal Election and is currently hiring temporary election workers to assist with advance voting, Election Day, and post-election ballot counting.

“Working a municipal election is a unique opportunity to engage with your community, gain experience in a civic setting, and support the delivery of a fair and accessible election,” the Town stated.

Successful applicants will be hired for the period between October 10 and 24, taking on responsibilities such as setting up and closing voting stations, assisting voters, providing information, and counting ballots.

Key dates for availability include:

  • Mandatory training: Friday, October 10
  • Advance voting: October 11, 14, 16, and 18
  • Election Day: Monday, October 20
  • Ballot counting: October 21–24

Applicants must be 16 years of age or older and legally entitled to work in Canada. No prior election experience is required—training will be provided.

The position pays $33.17 per hour, and applications will remain open until all positions are filled.
