Blake Richards gets re-elected for fourth term in landslide victory

Blake Richards has been re-elected for his fourth term after the 2019 Canadian Election took place this evening.

Incumbent Conservative, MP Blake Richards has been re-elected for the Banff-Airdrie riding for his fourth term. 

Richards was able to muster enough sufficient votes to have his victory declared by this evening just after 9 p.m. this evening. Richards is leading with 51,644 votes out of the 72,383 total votes equaling 71.35 per cent of the vote. 

He was met with cheers and a standing ovation once he arrived at his post-election gathering at Rival Axe Throwing in Airdrie. He gave a short speech thanking his family, members of his campaign team as well as his supporters. 

Liberal candidate Gywneth Midgley is in second but has only gained 10.75 per cent of the vote while the Anne Wilson of the NDP is in third with 10.39 per cent. 

Austin Mullins of the Green Party currently has 4.17 per cent and following him is People's Party of Canada candidate Nadine Wellwood who has captured 3.35 per cent of the votes.
