The Bow Rivers Edge Campground Society announced $104,100 in community program reinvestment this year, including $50,000 to fire relief in Fort McMurray (a split donation from the local Lions and Rotary clubs).
The society is a non-profit, jointly owned by the Town of Cochrane, Rocky View County, the Cochrane Lions Club and the Rotary Club of Cochrane. Each year, the society puts an average of $60,000 back into the greater community through its community reinvestment program (proceeds after campground maintenance and operations costs).
The society held a barbecue event Oct. 13, awarding recipients with grant monies.
According to Glenn Congram, Rotarian and society vice-chair, the board received 19 requests this year.
