Cochrane residents wanting to get to know their municipal candidates before casting their ballot Oct. 21 will have plenty of opportunity to do so during the coming week.
Seniors on the Bow (SOTB) held the first of its two candidate forums Oct. 2 (after the Eagle’s press deadline) and will host another Oct. 9.
The SOTB forums will include all candidates for Cochrane mayor, council and the three Rocky View Schools board of trustee contenders.
The next event is being held at SOTB from 6:30-9:15 p.m.
The Cochrane Settlement Community Association will also hold an all-candidate forum – Cochrane mayoral and council candidates.
The event will take place Oct. 6 at Frank Wills Memorial Hall and will kick off at 7 p.m.
“Over the past decade, our community association has organized at least three forums,” said association president Shirley Patterson. “People in this neighbourhood take elections seriously and maintain an ongoing interest in town issues.”
Association vice-president Igor Visser will moderate the event.
Finally, the Nan Boothby Memorial Library will hold its event Oct. 10 from 5-7 p.m. to provide Cochrane residents the chance to meet mayoral, council and trustee candidates.
