Bluntly, the biggest hole in our community services right now is that urgent care closes.
It is past time for council to start fighting for 24-hour urgent care in Cochrane.
As a parent, I have personally experienced the downside of not having 24-hr care in Cochrane.
Having made the 30-minute drive into the city with a screaming child at 2 a.m., then waiting four hours to see a doctor, I can tell you it was not a pleasant experience. The safety net and value of having 24-hour care provided to our seniors, children and entire town as a whole would be immeasurably valuable!
When it comes to health emergencies, Calgary is too far away to count on.
