I have completed a survey on Facebook and the results are surprising! Our town needs a women’s shelter, a community hub or centre, and more facilities for our seniors. I have heard from many people on these issues and will work hard to bring them to light. In particular I will champion this issue of a women’s centre very quickly once elected.
In regards to the dog park issues we seem to be having, I will ask for a review of this issue so I can better understand what we need to do to have a balance in our parks. I firmly believe our town parks are for people first. That’s why we build them and it is with tax dollars that we fund them.
That is the perspective that I will approach this issue with. Yes I have been a dog owner most of my life, so I understand the need to have my companion with me. But there needs to be a balance between people, dogs on leash, and dogs off leash, and it has to be done in a safe manner for all to enjoy.
