Around 300 cars will be lining the streets of downtown at the Cochrane Classic Car Club’s third annual Classic Car Show.
On Sept. 14, Main Street in Cochrane will be closed down to feature everything from Hot Rods to antique cars.
“We’re inviting all of the families and car enthusiasts to come on down and partake in one of the youngest and most unique car shows,” said John Fitzsimmons, one of the executives of the Cochrane Classic Car Club.
He said registration would start at 7 a.m., and cars would be rolling in around 8 a.m. Admission per vehicle is $10 plus a non-perishable food item for the Cochrane Activettes Food Bank. The event runs until 4 p.m.
Fitzsimmons said last year they had nearly 1,000 people show up to the event. He said they have been working closely with the businesses downtown that would be open for the event Sunday.
“We have had great support from the businesses, the Town of Cochrane and great support from Cochrane Tourism,” Fitzsimmons said.
The Cochrane Classic Car Club started three years ago by a bunch of local car enthusiasts, said Fitzsimmons. He said the group came together out of a desire to host their own show.
“It’s been a really great thing for the town of Cochrane to bring people in on a Sunday,” he said.
