Ivan Brooker is Cochrane’s newly elected mayor, and will lead a new council made up of Jeff Toews, Tara McFadden, Ross Watson, and newcomers Mary Lou Davis, Morgan Nagel and Gaynor Levisky.
Results are unofficial at this point, but numbers show Brooker tallied 1,856 votes, while fellow mayoral candidate Joann Churchill came in second with 1,432 and David Smith third at 1,232.
Toews was the leading vote getter for council candidates with 2,769 votes.
Voter turnout was 33 per cent.
