Cochrane Fire Services is trying to promote summer safety in the community by bringing back their annual Be Summer Safe campaign.
From July 10 to Aug. 30, the Town is sharing weekly safety tips and information to better help residents remain safe and vigilant while enjoying the hot and sunny summer season.
Over the course of the seven-week campaign, the tips will cover a variety of topics including grill, fire pit and water safety, information on Cochrane’s fire danger rating, ways to beat the summer heat, and more.
Town of Cochrane Fire Chief, Shawn Polley, and other members of Cochrane Fire Services encourage residents to keep safety at the forefront of their plans this summer.
“The ‘be summer safe’ campaign urges Cochranites to stay informed, look out for one another and embrace responsible practices to help minimize potential risks and enjoy summer to its fullest,” Polley said.
Cochrane Fire Sevices will also be out and about in the community to share additional safety information and help residents make summer-safe decisions.
Through last year's initiative, Cochrane Fire Services noted there was a drop in the number of river rescues and fire pit calls compared to previous years.
