CHASE THE ACE IS BACK

Starting on Saturday, Feb. 1, and weekly thereafter, Kiwanis will hold a Chase the Ace draw at The Iron Bridge pub at 240 Riverview Drive in Cochrane. Tickets cost $5 and will be on sale beginning 6 p.m. The draw takes place at 8 p.m. Chase the Ace is a progressive raffle Kiwanis of Cochrane will be using to fund various community kids’ programs. The jackpot, which has reached $650 for the Feb. 8 draw, accumulates from week-to-week until the weekly ticket winner draws the ace of spade. Kiwanis proceeds are used to fund their Christmas toy project for disadvantaged kids, their bike recycling program, kids’ leadership programs, Kamp Kiwanis disadvantaged kids access and various other community programs.

CHAPS ANNUAL FUNDRAISING DINNER COMING

The Cochrane Historical & Archival Preservation Society (CHAPS) is gearing up for their annual fundraising dinner to be held on Saturday, March 28 at the Cochrane Legion. Doors open at 5 p.m. and dinner at 6 p.m. The cost is $60 per person and entertainment is included. The event is known as a "get together" opportunity for many well known Cochrane families. DO YOU HAVE A JUNIOR CHEF?

The Club Cochrane is presenting their Junior Chef series for youth aged 10-14 from Feb. 6 to March 19 at the Bearspaw Lifestyle Centre. The six week course allows youth to build friendships and prepare delicious meals and snacks. Participants will also learn cooking and literacy skills, and essential kitchen safety practices.
