TOWN OF COCHRANE GIVES THANKS
Starting May 18 residents can participate in the Town of Cochrane #CochraneSaysThanks poster campaign to share their appreciation for each other, local business and services. The campaign will run for five weeks ending with Good Neighbour Week that begins on June 13. Residents, businesses and services can decorate a poster, hang it up and share it with social media with the #CochraneSaysThanks hashtag. The Town is encouraging local performers to join in on the campaign with a 20 to 60-minute show or activity and can pitch their idea via email to [email protected]. The Town will be releasing a schedule of online events in the coming days and week. The #CochraneSaysThanks poster can be downloaded at Cochrane.ca/COVID-19.
FIRE BANS LIFTED
The fire ban for the Town of Cochrane was lifted on May 11 and no restrictions on burning are in place. The fire ban was lifted because weather conditions have improved and the risk of wildfires has lowered. The fire advisory in Rocky View County has also been lifted. Effective May 8 no fire advisories or bans are active in the county, and permit burning is allowed.
