Effective May 7, the Town of Cochrane has issued a fire restriction in anticipation of hot weather and dry, cured grass conditions.
Under the restriction, the following activities are prohibited:

use of open fire permits
-
use of Town fire pits
-
use of backyard fire pits
-
use of charcoal briquette barbecues
The following remain permitted:
-
propane or natural gas barbecues
-
propane or natural gas fire pits
-
outdoor fireplaces
-
chimineas
-
fornos ovens
-
indoor wood-burning fireplaces
Residents are asked to use caution and follow all fire safety guidelines.
