A Cochrane man is $119,000 richer this morning after winning big on a Lotto 649 ticket.

Miles Morrison, of Cochrane, won a total of $119,486.20 on a lottery ticket purchased from the Fireside Shell in Cochrane in mid-February.

Morrison is one of 12 recent Lotto 649 winners and won the second largest lump-sum of cash in the Lotto 649 after Winnipeg’s James Konowalchuk, who won just over $1 million.

Morrison said he has been playing the name numbers for years  — 4, 16, 30, 32, 37 and 44 — and won by matching five of the six main draw numbers and the bonus number of 35.

When asked what he plans to do with his winnings, Morrison said he plans to put it to good use on the golf course.

“I’m going to go purchase some custom irons for golfing,” he said in a statement. “That’s something I never would have done if I hadn’t won.”
