Tulum Development Management will be hosting its second community meeting Oct. 12.
The meeting will be held at Weedon Hall from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and seeks to provide a more detailed community plan for the proposed Cochrane North development, as well as addressing key community concerns raised at the first meeting held in May.
Key concerns included transportation and stormwater management.
“We will have our team of experts in attendance to answer questions and to describe our development approach and servicing solutions,” said Asad Niazi real estate professional for Tulum.
Niazi explained that since the first meeting, his team has completed a transportation impact assessment and a stormwater analysis of both the subject site and of Cochrane Lake catchment area, as well as a water and sanitary servicing study.
“These technical reports address important issues (such as overland drainage and transportation) which were raised by community members through previous discussion.”
Purchased by the Weedon Joint Venture Partnership and managed by Tulum Development Management (TDM), the 316-acre development area spans immediately north of Monterra Phases One and Two and east of RR43.
“We have also been working closely with Rocky View County administration as our applications should be circulated very soon,” he said.
Should the application be approved, Niazi said a public hearing sometime in 2017 would follow.
Anticipated construction would begin in 2018 for a 425-unit build-out that would include a seniors complex as per the 2007 area structure plan.
