UPDATE: Cochrane RCMP arrest two after break ins

The two Calgary residents arrested are facing charges of Possession of Stolen Property Over $5,000, Flight From Police, Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Breaching conditions of release.

Bragg Creek, Alta. - Cochrane RCMP have arrested Matthew Steele and Travis Quinlan, both of no fixed address, after break-ins to vehicles in Turner Valley.

At 2:40 a.m. residents in Turner Valley were awoken to two individuals breaking into vehicles and a home. Turner Valley RCMP located the vehicle involved in the thefts leaving the area at a high rate of speed. Turner Valley RCMP alerted local detachments.

Later, Cochrane RCMP located the same vehicle driving at an extremely high rate of speed on Highway 22 near Bragg Creek. The vehicle was again located In Springbank pulled over on the side of the road as it had run out of gas.

One man was taken into custody. Police Dog Services were contacted and located a second suspect hiding in a dog house. The vehicle involved had been reported stolen in Banff a week earlier.

The two Calgary residents arrested are facing charges of Possession of Stolen Property Over $5,000, Flight From Police, Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Breaching conditions of release. Further charges are pending which include theft, attempted theft of a motor vehicle, and breaking and entering into a residence. 

The two men are awaiting hearings to determine their release at which time names will be provided.
