Vehicle collides with child in Bow Ridge, Cochrane EMS respond

According to RCMP, the child reportedly ran into the side of a car and suffered a leg injury as a result

Cochrane EMS responded to a report of a vehicle that collided with a small child in the Bow Ridge area of Cochrane earlier this afternoon. 

Cochrane RCMP received a dispatch call to the scene at 12:48 p.m. The child suffered a leg injury as a result of the incident.

"Our investigations revealed that the child ran into the side of the car and was thrown backwards," said Southern Alberta media relations officer Cpl. Troy Savinkoff. "He was taken by his mother to urgent care with a non-life-threatening injury."

The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene following the incident which occurred on Bow Ridge Road, according to Savinkoff.

An ambulance was dispatched along with RCMP and Cochrane Fire Services.
