A fire advisory is in effect for both the west and east sides of Rocky View County as of April 7.
Rocky View County Fire Services declared the moderate risk advisory due to current dry and windy conditions in the area, and the advisory will remain in effect until conditions improve.
During the fire advisory, all burning and firework permits are suspended and burning is banned, with some exceptions.
The use of Indoor household fireplaces, incinerators for farm and acreage use, burning barrels, properly attended camp stoves, barbecues, wood pellet grills, propane/natural gas fire pits, recreational camp fires in approved burn pits, chimeneas, fires contained within approved facilities and appliances in designated camping and recreation areas and oil well flaring registered with central fire dispatch is allowed.
